The 4-day trip from Byna
Bo to Raap en Skraap is one of the most popular family canoe trails
on the Orange River. Run for many years by Andrew Hockly (with dog),
the operation has now been taken over by our partners in the
Kalahari.

The trip is run as a downriver safari. Carrying all gear
in the large Mohawk 2-seaters, parties stop off for three nights
before reaching their destination. Along the way, tranquil stretches
of the river are succeeded by mild rapids - though capsizes are
possible for the unwary. Magnificent rust-coloured mountains float
by. There is a morning hike to "God's Big Toe" which also affords
grand views of the river valley and the neighbouring Namib desert.
The trip ends at Graduation Rapid where everyone swims one final
time before catching the bus back to base near Augrabies. Go
here
for a full write-up on the trip.
